College Speech Festivals Our learners participate in the annual English Schools Speech Festival held across the majority of English medium schools in Pretoria. Readathon and Spellathon Once a year, we enjoy a day of fun as we focus on language development through reading and spelling. Sponsor forms are sent out and learners are encouraged to get sponsors for the number of pages they can read in a specified time period. Our primary school learners participate in the Readathon. They dress up according to the theme of the book they have chosen to read and the school ground is transformed into a land of superheroes, princesses and the odd villain! Our secondary school learners participate in a Spellathon which is slightly more challenging and a good progression from the Readathon. Culture Evening A culture evening was initiated in 2014 and comprises group and individual performances by our learners. We are excited about developing our culture evening into a highlight on the school calender through innovative contributions such as art exhibitions, the inclusion of drama and the celebration of our multi-cultural heritage through dress code and food. Outings The learners at Tomorrow’s People College also enjoy 4 outings per year, one per quarter. We belived that apart from their normal sport and cultural activities, their horizons should be broadened through visits to interesting places. We arrange outings to science expos, nature conservancies, places of historical interest and in the fourth quarter, the whole school attends the annual concert presented by the Johannesburg Theatre. Other annual highlights are the camp and tour. Our Intermediate Phase learners enjoy “Camp Discovery”  - a two-night adventure camp filled with lots of mud and other activities. Our Senior School enjoy a 5-day tour to an interesting part of the country. Nursery School NS Concerts Every second year, the Nursery Schools (Faerie Glen & Menlo Park) come together for a spectacular concert. We have perfected the art of hosting a fun morning for parents to enjoy their little ones on stage, within the space of one hour! The concert is held on a Saturday morning when the children are at their best and we have yet to have less than one thousand audience members. Sport Back to top
